LANG: FRENCH 8
From: Elementary French 7
This course continues the learning journey started on grades 5, 6 and 7. Course activities include roleplaying, skits and practical conversation. This course emphasizes oral skills and participation. Written work and projects will, of course, also be included.
Units:
1A: Greetings (en francais), Nouns and articles.
1B: Identify yourself / others, Verb "être", typical French citizen
2A: Talk 'bout class and negation, present tense ER verbs, education in France
2B: Schedule, time, present tense, Le bac (diploma)
3A: Talk about family, ownership/possessive adjectives, and descriptive language. French families
3B: Describe people, jobs, and prepositions. Friendship in France


LANG: FRENCH 9
From : French 8
This course continues to build on the communication skills developed in Grade 8. Using practical, authentic and everyday scenarios, students will develop their vocabulary and grammatical skills through written and oral . And as always participation and determination is key.
Units:
[In the cafe]: students to learn how to order food
[hobbies]: learn different hobbies/activities, weather seasons, and vacation days.
[Celebrations]: learn about celebrations, holidays, and clothing
[Vacation]: learn how to describe your trips, transportation, and how to start a conversation about said vacations.

From: French 9
This course continues from previously worked on oral and writing skills. Students will learn and express themselves both orally and through written work in the past, present and future tense in French. Oral presentations and written projects will provide a fairly challenging level of French.
