Math + - x÷ curriculum.. but More (Other math programs) :

(Quick recap of the Incentive program)

The "Incentive program" is an extension program where current courses are pushed to more advanced levels.

-These courses are the standard mandatory class, such as: English, Math, Science, and Socials Studies.

-This course is made for students that are "above average" or looking for a challenge.

-To join, you need to take a test (date not know by me,) containing the standard course material If you already were in incentive and haven't gotten kicked out, you will automatically be sent to incentive.

-To stay in incentive you must have a straight proficient

- extending grades, any lower and you will be kicked out and reapply if you want to rejoin

Math incentive 9/10 requires you to be in the incentive program. and derives from Incentive 8

Math incentive with work deeper into math 9 and the "Foundations and Pre-Calculus Mathematics 10" curriculum. Because of this, the curriculum is covered at a faster pace than in the regular math, and to a greater degree and difficulty for certain topics.  It is intended for students who have a higher skill in mathematics. Students will be given various extensive activities and assignments, which may include mathematic contests and projects. If students complete this course successfully this course they will get credit for  the "Foundations of Mathematics and Pre-Calculus 10" course, which will allow students to advance to "Foundations of Mathematics 11 or Pre-Calculus 11" next year.

(Math contests and projects vary by year and are mostly provincial or city wide contests, be sure to ask your teacher for more information, studying, and to help you sign up)

Math + - x÷ Incentive:

Math + - x÷ Workplace:

Math workplace admission is similar  to that of the incentive program but with a key difference... no test is required. The ways to get admitted is either though your teacher's Recommendation or already be in workplace math (exclusive to 10 & 9)  ***Successful completion of course will provide credits crucial to advancing to the next grade's variation***

Workplace math revolves around math used in everyday life and in work, skills such as:

  • computational fluency

  • geometry

  • measurement

  • data and graph analysis

  • probability

  • trigonometry

  • and financial literacy

This math programs are built for higher ranking students who want a challenge. So if you believe math is too easy or too boring. Give "Incentive" and "Workplace" a try.
