EN: ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS 9
Prerequisite: Humanities 8 / English 8
This course builds on the foundation of Humanities 8, continuing to focus on Communication, Thinking, and Personal and Social core competencies. Students will keep developing the skills and knowledge set by the Ministry of Education. They will work toward becoming confident readers, writers, and creators of many kinds of texts, including digital ones. Through purposeful communication, students will learn to listen carefully, share ideas clearly, present information confidently, and understand how language connects to culture. They will respond personally and thoughtfully to different types of literature, such as novels, short stories, plays, poetry, and non-fiction.

EN: COMPOSITION AND SPOKEN LANGUAGE 10
Prerequisite: English Language Arts 9
This course helps students build strong writing skills through questioning, exploring, and trying new ideas. In a supportive community of writers, students will work both independently and with others to create clear and meaningful compositions. Students will also improve their speaking skills by learning different forms and styles of oral communication.
Students will study, draft, and utilize language to create original work in various ways. The course focuses on developing their craft through drafting, reflecting, and revising, while offering opportunities for performance, storytelling, and public speaking.
